The new SEO

Agent SEO: get your business found when customers ask AI instead of Google

Agent SEO (also called AI search optimization or answer-engine optimization) is the practice of making a business findable, citable, and contactable by AI assistants like ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini. Run does it for small businesses: we publish your services, prices, hours, and service area as structured pages assistants can read and cite, list you in a machine-readable local directory, and connect your business to assistants over MCP — so when someone nearby asks an AI who to call, the answer is you.

We measured it before we sold it

This isn't a trend piece — it's our own analytics. One of SuperCala's research sites started getting cited by ChatGPT with no ad spend: in its first five weeks we counted 30 distinct visitors arriving from inside ChatGPT conversations, from the US, Europe, and Asia, plus more from Gemini and Bing's AI answers. They clicked through because the site was the clearest machine-readable answer to the question being asked. Agent SEO applies the same playbook to your business.

What we set up for you

Structured pages assistants can cite

Your services, prices, hours, service area, and FAQs published as fast, crawlable pages with the schema markup AI crawlers read — on the site we build and host for you, or wired into the one you have.

Agent catalog & directory listing

We list your business in SuperCala's machine-readable local directory and agent catalog — the structured sources an assistant can query directly when a customer asks for the best plumber, salon, or clinic in town.

Contactable over MCP

Through our MCP service, a customer's AI assistant can find your business and deliver their inquiry directly. It lands in your Run inbox, your AI receptionist answers — and a conversation that started inside ChatGPT ends as a booked job on your calendar.

Questions owners ask us

What is agent SEO?

Agent SEO is search engine optimization for AI assistants instead of (not in place of) Google. Classic SEO earns you a spot in a list of ten blue links; agent SEO earns you the single answer an assistant gives when someone asks "who should I call?" It works by giving assistants what they need: clear, structured, truthful business facts they can read, cite, and act on.

What is MCP and why does my business need it?

MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard AI assistants use to connect to outside tools and services — ChatGPT and Claude both support it. Being reachable over MCP means an assistant doesn't just mention your business, it can act: look you up, check what you offer, and send you a customer's inquiry on the spot. SuperCala runs the MCP service and your business gets listed in it as part of Run.

How is this different from the SEO my web guy already does?

Traditional SEO optimizes for Google's ranking algorithm. AI assistants work differently: they read pages like a researcher, prefer structured facts over keywords, and give one recommendation instead of a results page. The two don't conflict — the same clean, factual pages help both — but the directory listing and MCP contactability have no equivalent in a traditional SEO package.

How long does it take to work?

The setup ships with your Run onboarding in days. Discovery builds over weeks: AI crawlers revisit continuously, and on our own properties we saw the first ChatGPT-referred visitors within weeks of the content existing. We don't promise rankings — nobody honestly can — but we make your business the easiest correct answer for an assistant to give.

What does it cost?

Agent SEO is included with Run — it's part of the service, not an add-on, and there's no per-use charge. Run is $499/month flat or pure usage-based pricing; see pricing for both.
